SPECIAL NOTE Afra & Tobia Scarpa are postmodern Italian designers and architects. Carlo Scarpa, a Venetian architect and Tobia’s father was a great influence to the couple. Their pieces can be found in museums all over the world, including collections in MoMA and the Louvre Museum. They have won a number of awards, one of which being the Compasso d’Oro in 1970, for their design of the Soriana armchair, for the International Forum Design in 1992. Their design work consists of architecture and everyday items including interior design, furniture, and art glass.
