SPECIAL NOTE Luigi Caccia Dominioni was an Italian designer and architect born in Milan. He is considered a pioneer industrial designer and a prominent advocate of the “Milan” style, which encompasses a unique and distinctive design methodology incorporating technique, theory and a meticulous focus on craftsmanship. Dominioni found a special connection, great pleasure and inspiration from his frequent partnerships with skilled artisans of Milan who worked with materials such as wood, glass, stone and metal. In 1947, Luigi Caccia Dominioni along Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua founded Azucena, a furniture company which has always been held in the highest esteem as an Italian brand, combining formal elegance and understated luxury, where he designed and created numerous lighting and furniture designs. Dominioni’s designs received the Compasso d’Oro award several times.
