SPECIAL NOTE Antonio Scoccimarro, born in Milan in 1931, was an Italian architect and professor. After completing his studies in architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan in 1957, Scoccimarro spent nearly a decade in professional practice before returning to academia. Rising through the academic ranks, he was appointed full professor of Architectural Construction Design and became Director of the Department of Building Planning, Design, and Production (PPPE) in 1993. He oversaw significant departmental transitions, including the creation of the DiTec and BEST departments, until 2003. Following retirement, Scoccimarro continued his commitment to architectural education as a professor.
