SPECIAL NOTE Bruno Gambone was born in Salerno in 1936. He spent a brief period working in ceramics in his father's studio in Florence and later explored the fields of fabric decoration and painting on canvas. In 1963, he moved to the United States and spent a few years in New York where he worked among artists like Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, gaining much experience in the areas of painting, sculpture, cinema and theatre. After his father's death in 1969, he returned to Florence to keep the ceramic studio running and since then, has continued to work intensely, producing ceramics of great interest and quality. In 1997, he was appointed Artistic Director of the Italian Ceramic Awards of Vietri sul Mare (Salerno).
